Are you anxiously awaiting your tax returns and keep asking yourself “where’s my refund?” Well, you’re not alone. If you have yet to receive your tax refund after at least 21 days of filing online or six weeks since you mailed in your paper return, we recommend going to a local IRS office or to call the IRS phone number (1-800-829-1040). Here’s what you should know about being able to track your tax refund plus some things to know about how to obtain your tax refunds quicker.

In order to track your IRS refund for the federal tax refund, we suggest clicking the link here. In order to track your refunds, you’ll need to provide your filing status and refund amount in dollars and cents, as well as your Social Security number.

How do I get a faster tax refund?

To get your tax returns quicker, we recommend letting the IRS know that they can directly deposit your refund into your bank account instead of cutting you a paper check. We also recommend avoiding filing your tax returns on paper. The IRS will take exceptionally longer than if you file your tax returns online. In fact, the IRS typically takes six to eight weeks to process paper returns. When done electronically, tax refunds usually take about three weeks.
